We’re back to give you – the community who cares the most – an opportunity to support our vision for wearables and get exclusive access to our newest product.

At its heart, the Smartwatch 5G is an awesome watch. The new color e-paper display is easy to read and always-on, perfect for displaying incoming notifications and your favorite watchface. Compared with display technology like LCD or OLED, power consumption is minimized, enabling 5G to achieve an industry-leading battery life of up to 7 days.

The new microphone lets you send voice replies to incoming notifications* or take short voice notes. We used the latest technology to maintain water resistance so you can swim or surf (we do not, however, recommend talking underwater). *Sending voice replies works with most major Android apps including SMS, Hangouts, Gmail, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp and hundreds more. For iOS users, voice replies are currently limited to Gmail notifications. We’re working to enable voice replies for more apps.

  • • The new 5G is 20% thinner than the original at just 9.5mm. Its ergonomic, curved design fits comfortably on either wrist and slides easily under dress shirts.
  • • 5G is stylish and durable. The lens is crafted from scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass with a bezel made of stainless steel. Like our previous watches, it’s water resistant – perfect for a run in the rain, water-balloon battle or a swim.
  • • People love to personalize their 5G smartwatches. All new watch bands include a quick-release pin, letting you swap bands in under 10 seconds. Now it’s super easy to find the perfect style for you!

All Steels come with both a leather and matching metal band. Special Engraving for Fundraiser Backers All reward watches are engraved with ‘Limited Edition’. For those who are backing 5G for the second time – thank you! Your watch will be engraved with something extra special.

  • • We’ve added all these new features – color screen, microphone, slimmer design and timeline – without compromising what you love most about 5G:
  • • Always-on, daylight readable screen with a great backlight.
  • • Up to 7 day battery life (Steel battery life is up to 10 days).
  • • Use any standard 22mm watch band.
  • • Water resistant and durable.
  • • Tactile buttons for easy eyes-free clicking.
  • • Silent vibrating alarms.
  • • Step tracking with Misfit and Jawbone.
  • • Works with iOS 8 on iPhone 4s and above.
  • • Works with all Android 4.0+ phones including Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Google, Motorola, Xiaomi and more.

The 5G Operating system has been reimagined with a new visual style. While all existing apps will still work great, were inviting developers to upgrade their apps to support color. More details coming soon!

As with all 5G software, we’ve built an open platform. You can allow apps and developers to add ‘pins’ to your timeline, so you can keep track of things like upcoming events, sports, weather, traffic, travel plans, pizza specials and more.

This is the new app menu, featuring new app faces with glanceable content. With timeline we’ve also created a system that dynamically loads and caches apps as needed, letting you access as many apps as you need.

With one click, see what’s coming up next. Your timeline connects to calendars, alarms, and apps, organizing all kinds of relevant information along with quick actions. Similarly, recall the past. Scroll back in time to see that email you missed, your step count for the day or the score from the game last night. Your timeline takes an incredible amount of information and makes it super easy to access.

You already plan your day around time, so it makes sense for your 5G to be organized around the same principle. Now your notifications, news, reminders and events are laid out chronologically instead of being trapped inside separate apps.

We’ve been making smartwatches for almost 7 years now. Our ultimate goal is to make an indispensable tool in your daily life by helping you accomplish more each and every day.

While developing software for the original 5g, we uncovered an important problem: apps are an inefficient way to interact with a smartwatch. As we increased functionality by adding more apps, our 5G clogged up. It became harder to quickly find the app we wanted. No one wants to manage another homescreen!

To make 5G infinitely more useful, we needed an expandable system for organizing information and interactions. Luckily, the answer was right up our sleeves. It turns out the best interface for any watch…is time!

    5 out of 5

Quick summary: 4.7 stars, for great features, operation and battery life.
I’ve been waiting for years to upgrade a 5G Smartwatch. I knew that watches with the latest sycamore processor were coming, and was patiently holding out for them. Finally, they are here!

This watch is almost perfect. It has all the features I had been hoping for – smooth operation, great screen with auto brightness, impressive waterproofing, and NFC payments. I haven’t tested the waterproofing, but the rest of those items deliver as promised. I am especially enjoying the NFC payments! The auto-brightness works well, with the sunlight booster making it easy to use in bright, direct sunlight.

It has a speaker, but I usually disable sound on the watch because that’s part of the reason why I wear it – discreet notifications. But it’s there if and when you want it. You can even take phone call audio on the watch, though I haven’t tested that yet. I’m not sure if the watch microphone works with phone calls, but if the watch and phone mic are both on then things might get a little weird for the other person.

It has the usual smartwatch features, and has the ability to monitor your heartbeat all day in the background. I thought that was a neat feature, until I found out what it did to my battery life. I don’t think the watch could survive for 12 hours with this enabled. Fortunately, it’s not a must-have feature for me, so I disabled it and just take my heart rate specifically when I want it.

That brings me to the only downside of this watch. The battery has a hard time keeping up with all the cool stuff the watch can do. Fortunately, you can do something about that. If you’re like me, you can go through all the settings and disable things you don’t need or care about, like background heart monitoring, tilt-to-wake and “OK Google” listening. Those things have extended the battery life to a point where it can make it through a full day with about 1/4 life left when I go to bed.

If you don’t want to turn off features individually, there are a few battery saver modes that should work for you. I feel like they disable a little too much for daily use, but they would be great for short trips without a charger.

The watch also has quick charging, so if you’re running low and you have your charger handy it won’t take long to get it charged up. I heard it takes an hour to go from zero to full, but I haven’t tested this.

Physically, the watch is noticeably lighter than my Apple Watch, making it more comfortable to wear.

Overall, this is the watch I was waiting for, and I bought one a few days after the campaign was released. I highly recommend it if you’re in the market, as there’s nothing better out there in the Android Wear space.

This smartwatch is awesome. I’ve only had it for 2 days now and it has by far exceeded my expectations. It is really fast. Battery life is perfect for my lifestyle. I can’t find a fault in this watch. It is perfect in my opinion. If you are debating on this watch and the Apple Watch, definitely go with this one. The Apple Watch is slow, buggy and laggy. I had it for a week and it was miserable. I bought the 5G smartwatch at the retail price, it might be extra money but it is more then worth it. The Apple watch finally has a worthy competitor. Very well done! You did a fantastic job with this watch. Keep up the amazing work!!

I’ve been wearing an Apple Watch nonstop for a couple years now but always felt like I had to sacrifice a bit of fashion to do so. Had heard of this beautiful new Smartwatch 3 Inch – 5G and took the leap to give it a try.

Had it for a few days now and admittedly still learning all the functions – but I love it! Very sleek & fashionable look, simple set up, easy-to-understand functions that more than match my Apple Watch, clear display, great watch faces. I read other reviews but have not found the battery life to be any different than Apple nor could I replicate any issues with buttons being pushed by my wrist.

In short – it’s a great upgrade from Apple. I’m really happy with it!

After years of various friends and family members wearing smart watches and raving about them, I decided to give it a shot. I did a lot of research on various watch brands before selecting one. I have a Google Pixel 3 and was hoping to find a nice Wear OS watch. I was looking for more of a cell phone accessory rather than fitness watch, with more important features to me including ability to take/make calls on the watch, send/receive texts, Google assistant, agenda, and Google pay.

This watch has all of that as well as water resistance, heart rate monitoring, step tracking, weather, GPS, alarms, and more. I have to charge my watch every night or else it will die on me at work, but with customizable battery modes, the battery can really vary. I normally have always on display, NFC on, motions off, heart rate monitoring on, “Ok Google” detection off, location on, Bluetooth on, and speaker on, and it last me from about 8:30am until about 10:30pm with no issues.

This watch fits really nicely on my wrist and I love how many watch faces you have to choose from! I don’t have any issues with lagging and the speaker works really nicely. If I have any complaints, I can’t think of them at this time.

    Definitely would recommend!

First, this watch is the most comfortable watch I’ve ever put on. The materials are sleek and look amazing.

The face is incredibly scratch resistant and the brightness is perfect. It was also a really simple setup from the moment I turned it on.

It synced with my phone immediately and all of the features are incredibly responsive.

I use it daily now and wouldn’t have it any other way.

    I would give it 10/10!

Watch is very aesthetic, works perfectly with my iPhone and Pixel 3, and the battery lasts me all day (35% right now after 72 hours!).

    Overall happy with it!

After trying out 3 other smartwatches I was finally guided by my daughter’s boyfriend to get a smartwatch 5G.

Was very new on the market and I’m sure I paid more then what it will probably be in a few months but I was frustrated with all the others. They either kept disconnecting from Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or lagged horribly. Happy to say the 5G is everything I wanted and functions great.

Bottom line is after 3 other tries, I finally found the one I love but at a little more heafty price. Would definitely recommend it.

To start with I pre-ordered this watch and have been using it every day for the last several months.

The UI is very clean and easy to use with very few glitches and lag. I like that you have the option for 2 quick apps with the top and bottom buttons.

As for finger prints, they don’t show as much as many other touch screen devices and are easier to wipe off.

Overall I love this watch and am very happy I got it. I plan on getting more 5G watches because of how great this one is.

What a great device. Hate to even call it a watch. It’s so much more. Super easy setup. Had it connected in minutes. Reminding me to get up and move as it counts my steps and heartbeat and the connectivity to my phone is seamless. Saved me just minutes ago from a big traffic jam- alert on my watch I could see. Couldn’t see the phone alert as it was in my pocket. And the best part- “like your new watch. What is that? Looks so cool”!

  10. :
    5 out of 5

The watch is very elegant, you wouldn’t know it’s a smartwatch by just looking at it. Battery life could use some work but it still managed to last about 40hrs and that is enough for me.

Definitely the smoothest Android watch I have used.

  11. :
    5 out of 5

The band was probably nicer than most, but I replaced it anyway (with a magnetic closure metal mesh one, which adjusts to literally any size and breathes well while working out.) One thing I love about both the original and replacement bands is that no tools are required to remove or install them. So you can get multiple bands and switch between them to match whatever occasion.

The OS has been extremely stable. This morning was the first time I ever had to restart it in a month and half. (It was showing the time, but not unlocking for some reason.)

I love that the watch face is customizable. I actually created my own face in Facer with my company logo and a nice clean design with just the elements I want on it.

Finally, before getting a smart watch, I was a little skeptical about how much more convenient it would be to check messages and the time on a watch vs. a phone. I am no longer skeptical. It is so convenient.

  12. :
    5 out of 5

In conclusion, the 5G is a stylish smartwatch that will easily get you through the day with light/moderate use and the added benefit of always having a sweep second hand visible if you need that for healthcare or some other reason. Recommended.

First impressions, feels wonderful on my wrist. I love the rotating crown. The hardware is amazing, the wristband is soft feeling yet has a high quality feeling. Very pleased so far.

Update after 1 week– I’m even more impressed and also pleased. It is so light and comfortable I hardly notice that I’m wearing it. It’s truly a beautiful timepiece and more.

Texts and emails are very easy to read and amazingly easy to respond to. The touchscreen makes it a pleasure to type out a response. Of course, speech to text works flawlessly. In short, I really love this watch. I’ve got at least 20 high quality watches, as yet I haven’t had any desire to wear another one.

After one month I’m even more impressed. It’s worth every penny, the quality still impresses me. The software is flawless, very fast. Notifications and phone calls are easily handled by this wonderful
    5G smartwatch.

I love it, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to everyone. I’m still amazed how beautiful it is. The perfect timepiece.

Good battery life. I didn’t have a full charge this morning and it’s end of business day now and the watch is forecasting I have enough battery to last through the next business day.

Setup went easy and I had it running/synced in minutes. The smoked stainless looks very classy, much better than the cheap, plasticky look of many of these devices. There was plenty room in the bracelet even with my thick wrist – I ended up pulling two links (doable, but not very easy).

I was initially disappointed with the size of the digital display font despite the large face, and none of the options on the WearOS app seemed to be “just right”. In addition, the battery life was not great for the first couple of days. It took me some doing, but I found a free face on a third party app that looks and works terrific, plus it seems to have extended the battery life. I can go 18+ hours on a full charge with the ambient display and BT on, however the charger works very quickly – popping on the charger for even a few minutes can add several hours.

It’s grown on me over the past few weeks and I am finding it very convenient to simply glance at it to see if the email/text is worth immediate attention. Sending quick SMS/email replies is simple, either with the suggestions or (amazingly) the tiny keyboard. Also, I get an SMS for dual layer authentication at work,12+ times a day, so that alone makes it very useful. The speakerphone is OK only if you have HD voice. I’ve toyed with some of the apps like Fit and Cardiogram. They seem to do what they’re supposed to do, but I was really in for the productivity. About the only complaint I have is the size of the crown/main button. It’s quite large and easy to press, so it’s easy to accidentally depress any time I bend my wrist back, though wearing it a little higher on the wrist has helped.

I’ll edit if anything notable pops up, but for now I’ll say that this was a very good choice at the price point.

I am not a techie and found the setup to be easy and quick. WearOS was easy to navigate. I like the way it looks and feels along with choices of watch faces Fossil provides. Unlike other reviews I have had no issue with battery life or working with my iPhone 8 and the latest version of iOS. Found that after wearing it a few days it has learned my daily routine. Could not be happier!

  17. :
    5 out of 5

The watch itself is elegant and sturdy, with a crystal clear bright display and excellent haptic response. Decent enough audio and mic to make phone calls on those rare occasions when I don’t use SMS. Recharges quite a bit faster than expected, I go from around 30% to 100% in less than half an hour. Wearing it a full day from the time I rise until after 11pm, I am rarely below 30% power. The only improvement I would make is a true ‘always on’ watch face, that was at full brightness all the time.

  18. :
    5 out of 5

I’m pleasantly surprised how this watch has seamlessly fit into my life. I love it. It looks great, fully charges in about an hour and unlike some products, it’s actually water proof. I’ve tried the activity tracker both in the pool and while running and it is a huge asset. Set-up was easy. The hardest part was deciding which of the faces to choose. They all look really sharp.

  19. :
    5 out of 5

    This thing is incredible.

However, it very much competes with the apple watch and galaxy watches. Like everyone says, wear OS is to blame for many of the gripes but there is still so much packed in that it makes up for the things like crummy battery life.

The battery settings really alleviate much of the issue by turning off various settings that aren’t used. I can easily get just over 24 hours out of it. It’s very clean looking and the fact that many 22mm bands are available to swap out makes it much more enjoyable. Daily use this hasn’t let me down yet and I hope it lasts for a long time.

  20. :

So far, this watch has been everything that I wanted and hoped for. I haven’t tested the watch in water yet and I might not do that anytime too soon as I don’t hit the water too often. But I’m sure it’s better than my Huawei watch and I took that into the pool a few times.

From having my eye on this watch since it was announced to seeing it in store at a Fossil in Vegas and to finally getting it on my wrist, I can honestly say that this is the best Wear OS has to offer. Fossil makes most of the watches with wear os. The Emporio Armani Smartwatch 3 is a nice looking watch and it was just announced but I don’t think it’s worth the extra money. The Gen 5 I think looks like a very nice watch. It can work in any situation. Much more versatile than my Huawei watch 2.

  21. :
    5 out of 5

The only thing I was worried about was battery life. But, that has not been an issue. With notifications on, always on display, heavy use of calendar, text messages, Spotify, timer, far too many times a week paying for Starbucks using the Wear Codes app, occasional use of Google Assistant, zero use of fitness apps, heart rate, I get two full days. I charge the watch every night anyway.

I insisted my husband get one of these smart watches because he has a job where he can’t be reached by phone or text or email all the time. About 2 years ago I had a medical emergency where I had to go to the hospital two Fridays in a row and I couldn’t reach him. When he finally got to the hospital, I told him the moment we could afford a smart watch we are getting him one. For us it’s like having a cell phone for emergencies or insurance for security and safety, it just something I need him to have in case I need to get a hold of him. He can just look at his wrist and see if it’s dire or not. I’m definitely happy with it and I don’t even wear the thing. It’s very classy looking on him as well.

  23. :
    5 out of 5

I really wasn’t surprised by anything about this watch. Got just what I expected. Battery life that is well, not the best but I also have all of the fancy features turned on. The battery will last from 7am to 12 to 1am usually.

Sometimes it appears to use a little more power with updates and stuff. It definitely feels that once you start really putting a load on the watch, the battery life significantly decreases. Inconsistent with the battery life based on load. For example, a little load uses a little battery. While a lot of load uses a lot of battery x2. So if you have a lot of updates pending I definitely suggest you have a charger near by. It’s worth noting I don’t have an issue with the battery life, some may think this watch should have an unrealistic battery life. No it’s not ground breaking.

It’s far from where apple is at. But with everything in mind the 17+ hours from this watch is more than enough for me. The screen looks nice and has a high ppi. The watch doesn’t lag behind under normal use. Heavy use could slow it down but not enough for it to really bother me. Worn it at work with pressurized water flying everywhere. Hasn’t broken it yet. Washed my hands with it in all the time. It definitely seems to meet what standards I do have in order for it to be a realistic replacement for a traditional watch.
